Steve Pang Acupunture

Steve Pang, an acupuncturist in New York contacted me recently about helping him with his website. I had helped him with some small fixes to his website in 2007, but this time he wanted a pretty major overhaul. His website, stevepang.com, was basically built by taking images and slicing them in Imageready, an old Adobe program that has long since been subsumed by Photoshop.

Steve is working with a marketing group, trying to make his promotional pieces work for him. The website does not lend itself to indexing by Google at all in its current state. Steve wanted the design to stay the same, but the coding under the hood needs to be completely reworked to make the site more accessible.

Initially, Steve wanted just static html, but after some reflection, it became clear that building the site in WordPress was going to be more effective in the long run. I am enjoying working on the project. Steve has introduced some fun programming challenges, and I am sure I will be writing about it more here on MeadDesign.
